Partner Caregivers was created to offer support to anyone who is caregiving for their partner. It is run by Jen who spent three years caregiving for her partner, Dee, as she battled cancer. Jen experienced many different situations while caregiving and found it hard to find others who could really understand what she was going through. Also Jen realized that she often didn’t have to time to fully research things that may have helped Dee around the house or with her treatment. In setting up Partner Caregivers, Jen wants to share her experiences and offer support to other caregivers. Also it is to allow caregivers the opportunity to support each other and help each other by sharing their experiences. The site is primarily for gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender couples but no one will be denied access as long as they treat others with respect. Partner Caregivers is a division of Jendee Cares, LLC. Jendee Cares was created by Jen after many different conversations between Dee and her about how hard it was to find someone who could really understand them. They had always talked about Partner Caregivers being a free site because they knew the toll that long term medical expenses takes on a family. Since creating and running a business isn’t free the idea behind Jendee Cares is that the retail division, Hope Treasury, can support the Partner Caregiver division. JenDee Cares, LLC is not a non-profit business at this time but the business plan has it changing over any day now. Other future business plans include adding an Ask a Nurse forum and articles written by health professionals.
